Meet our team of population experts
We are a team of population experts ...
.id’s team is made up of demographic and spacial analysts, population forecasters, housing analysts, Census data, mapping and IT experts. Our offices are in Collingwood, Melbourne and Wellington, New Zealand. We currently employ 22 people in the loosely defined roles of "getting the work in", "getting the work done" and "getting paid".
Most of us are “corporate refugees” who are committed to creating an intelligent company where our ideas can flourish, our work matters and we treat ourselves and our clients with integrity and humour. There’s a fair bit of music and madness in our offices – feel free to drop by.
Matthew>
Population Forecaster
Matthew heads up .id's population forecasting team. He has extensive demographic and specialist forecasting knowledge in both metropolitan and regional Australia. Matthew had five years experience in the Department of Infrastructure (Vic), responsible for undertaking Regional State Government Population Forecasts and assisting in the production of the Metropolitan Melbourne Population Forecasts. Since joining .id in 2000, Matthew developed a small area population forecasting model which is subscribed to by over 120 councils across Australia. He went on to develop a sub-CCD based forecast for Victoria which enables users to obtain forecasts for any catchment. He is now extending these forecasts to NSW. If you want to know about the future of Australian cities, ask Matthew.

He has produced forecasts for councils across Australia and presented widely on demographic and housing trends and challenges. He recently undertook .id's first New Zealand forecast for Wellington City Council.

Simone has been working in .id's forecasting team since the end of 2010, and has been working in demographic roles since the mid 1990s. She is particularly proud of her involvement in the 2006 Census, having designed and managed the enumeration of CDs (while at the ABS) and then analysing them while working for the Victorian State government. She has long had an interest in Census data and loves the way it can tell you stories about places and how they’re changing. Outside of work, Simone is a keen photographer and one day hopes to say she has travelled around Australia (so far she’s done Port Pirie in South Australia to Rainbow Beach in Queensland).
