.id undertook a detailed economic analysis of the Launceston and Northern Tasmania economy to support the development of the Economic Development Strategy. Our involvement helped identify the opportunities, trends and drivers of future economic growth.

Our method

Our involvement included a dominant/emerging industry analysis, skills gap analysis, supply-chain analysis, tourism and agriculture analysis and spatial analysis.

The profile highlighted that the City of Launceston and Northern Tasmania Region face a number of challenges that need to be addressed. That said, this profile points to a number of emerging opportunities and drivers of growth and these are the focus of this profile. Four major opportunities were identified:
