Challenge
Understanding the diverse mix of migrants by their era of settlement since the end of World War II as to tailor culturally-specific policy and servcies.
Outcome
A sociodemographic analysis of nine 10-year migrant 'eras' of settlement from pre-1945 to 2021, analysing the spatial, demographic, economic, and historical charactersitics of the residents within each migrant era group.
To inform the City of Darebin's Cultural Diversity Action Plan, the Council required an in-depth analysis of the sociodemographic characteristics of its migrant communities. The "Migrant communities by era of settlement" report provides up-to-date local insights into 'eras' of migrant settlement from pre-1945 to 2021 on a range of relevant themes.

In preparing the report, all data was sourced from the ABS' Australian Census of Population and Housing.
